Yesterday I went to our 'do bee' again. This bee we actually do some stitches of whatever we are sewing. Our real bee is more a girls chatting club at which we talk and snack, exchange plans and ideas, look through books and magazines and snack and chat.... But on Tuesday afternoons we are supposed to work on a project. I found my hand sewing stuff again last week and worked in my garden yesterday with 2 1/2 flowers as a result. No idea how many I have now.
In the evening I took up knitting socks again. A small disaster happenend when we moved. I lost three drawers with socks, stockings, tights etc. many of them brandnew. I remember sorting them, throwing away the worn ones and tidying up the drawers but I don't remember packing them. So probably they ended up in the local thriftstore with our old bedroom. I am a little sad about this for among them were several pairs I knitted last winter and some pairs of socks my mother knitted ages ago. I still put them on on cold winter evenings. Such a lovely warm and nostalgic feeling. Stupid... but I still hope they will turn up one day.
Why I am knitting so many socks at once? Well I can knit the heels one after the other without remembering or counting stichtes (I never work with a pattern). Thought this was very smart!
This is what our hostess's daughter baked for us. We worked hard on these too.........
