Thanks to Clare and her hosting 'Tuesday Treasures' I had another look in a draw where I knew I would find one or another treasure. This time I found this lovely crocheted basket with two potholders my mother made for me while she was staying with us in Australia. It was in the seventies and crochet was very popular then. I have never seen my mother's hands resting. She was always doing something, knitting, crocheting, sewing and trying other crafts. She was a seamstress but in the evening she liked doing something small. While in Australia she enjoyed sewing clothes for our little girls which I usually did mysels. But we had to keep her busy for almost 6 months and we must have been one of the best customers of the local craft shop in St Ives. (I wonder if it is still there) The potholders have been heavily used but are stored away now. They are a sweet memory of my mother how she really was.

This looks like a 'Clare' posting ;-) A few weeks ago I entered her give away and for the first time in my blogging life I won! A pattern for a lovely sewing machine apron which I received yesterday. Thank you so much Clare. I am really happy with it!
