Three flowers are blooming this week. One is not in full bloom yet but will be tonight!

Because I always seem to be working on ever lasting projects and yet want to show something I dived into my WISP basket. It made me sigh. What I show here is only in one basket. I did not dare to have a look the the other one. I am thinking of buying a Nespresso coffeemaker and like George Clooney try to bribe Petrus for a longer life. In the remaining years I have statistically I'll never be able to finish my WISPs and make the nice projects that are on the shelves.

Started Januari 2006, needs border quilting and binding

Started spring 2006, needs 20 more blocks, border, etc

Started summer 2005, thought that all 4 blocks were finished but no, only two finished blocks.

Block swap bee 2008 needs quilting an binding

Is er nog iemand met zo'n berg ufo's? En hoe lossen jullie het op?
Someone else with such a pile of ufo's? How do you solve the problem?

groetjes,

Mooi, alleen maar rode blommen.

Your flowers are very pretty and don't worry about the UFO's. I think we quilters are all the same. I have that many things stashed away in cupboards that I have probably forgotten half of what I haven't finished. I think the trouble is that there are so many new beautiful fabrics and patterns being released to tempt us and now that the world is a much smaller place, thanks to the internet, there is much more to be tempted by.

Succes in ieder geval!

So many beautiful WIPs! Don't know the answer to getting them all done, but they are lovely!

Thanks for sharing all the photos. It would be interesting if we all put up pictures of things we have yet to finish. I fear blogger would shut me off, as I have so many UFO's. Perhaps if I pull them all out and put them in one place, together, they could begin to work with each other. Hmmmm

LOVELY flowers ! They're looking like jewels. You're doing a GREAT job, dear ;>)
Don't worry about your (beautiful) WISPS, they'll get done, sooner or later, one stitch at a time. (You should see my own WISPS pile!). And if some don't... then it means they were not meant to be. Sometimes, our tastes change with time, and we don't feel like finishing some old wisps. Sometimes, on the contrary, we are delighted to find them back, like a good surprise...
I guess we're having too many temptations and new ideas through books, Web AND blogs ! HeeHee
But oh well, this is creativity, right ?

KEEP GOING, deatr !
XOXOXOXOXOXOO

How about spending one weekend a month working on only UFO's. Your hexagon flowers are beautiful. I managed to make two today.

Lida said...

Succes,
Lida

Lieve Jossie,
jouw bloemetjes zijn zo schattig, weer!
I am zo impressed with your WISP's and have quite a few myself... As a hand-quilter I know that it will take me longer than most to finish them and that is ok. I tackle one hand-quilting project each summer and hopefully eventually things will get done. But I am also contemplating sending a few to be machine-quilted. And giving away as charity quilts those projects that no longer make my heart sing.
You have taken a brave first step in tackling the problem and I think you will find a way!

I really love your red blooms, they're beautiful. You've got a lot of lovely WISPs there - I think Karen has a good idea of having a weekend a month to work on them.

Mooie bloemen !

Your red flowers are beautiful!
I tried working on things in rotation for a while -- each day of the week I would work on a specified project. For a while that worked but then new projects were started and ... well, there are just so many things to make!!

Beautiful flowers there.

Gorgeous WISP's - sometimes I challenge myself to finish one of my WISP's by the end of a month. So far this year I have finished two large projects one of which had been in the making for four years. Enjoy your work.

PS: love the pic in your header - the clamshells look amazing like that - it certainly is getting crowded up there.

I think my UFO pile is comparable to yours. My UFOs are not even close to completion as yours are. I joined a UFO group - one project finished every month. The only problem with that is that I start three more for everyone I finish!

Hello Jossie, enjoy finishing those beautiful quilts. Maybe we should call them "not quite there projects" One day you will get there!!! Just take the project that needs the least finishing and put on that coffee machine and stitch!!!! You will need some chocolate too for sustenance. Happy Days.

Your garden is growing beautifully Jossie, love the red flowers!
Good ideas above about picking one UFO a month to finish.....I only started patchwork & quilting last summer & already have 6 projects on the go & 1 BOM in a box not touched yet!
